Ok so i have had my vy ss for a couple of months now and want to start putting the audio system in it.
I have all wiring which i removed from my old car and have one 4 channel amp and one mono amp which are these ones
Hifonics BXi1610D - Monoblock Car Amplifier, Power Amp - Sonic Electronix
Hifonics ZXi6410 - 4 Channel Amplifier | Four Channel Amp - Sonic Electronix
now the sub i had in my old car was a hifonics olympus dual 2ohm sub wired at 1ohm, but i want to change to 2 dual 4ohm subs so they can also be wired at 1ohm.
so i just want to get some opinions on what are some good subs to match my amp, im probably more after sound quality than spl.
Well this is more SPL than SQ but still good, 2512a-D4

+1 for the Vibe Spaces. I feel like I'm always talking them up, but they are worth it

Imo get two tens i reckon they sound better then 12's a better sound 'thump' so to speak, maybe thats just my system, two MTX 10's and an alpine amp but speak to joe from shopping secure man
im running twin 12 inch p1 rockfordfosgate subs with rockfordfosgate mono block amp and it pumps man, but 10's are the go man they respond better
10's, 12's, dosen't matter much really. In fact in a vehicle the size of a Commodore, unless it's a very high end subwoofer, about the only difference you would notice is a variation in output due to overall cone surface area.
You didn't mention a budget? There's good subs to be had in just about every price bracket, but more important is the setup, the enclosure , and the tuning.
Something else to consider, is that if you after SQ overall, then a single sub is usually the better option. When you buy 2 subs, your buying 2 subs of the same quality. If the quality of one doesen't meet your needs / expectations, then simply adding more of them does not solve the problem.
