well as the title states, im trying to install a twin cadence sub with amp into my vx. i have a thick cable that has had a few slightly smaller cables attached to make up for length, connected to battery and the subs amp. i have the audio out rca cables all connected properly, and have also connected an ignotion power cable from the accesories out of my new head set. but i still cant find out what is going wrong? its like the sub isnt getting any power, when in theory it should be. the whole system works perfect as it did in my mates car not long ago. any suggestions? +im considering pulling out the cables that have joint connections and re-atatching them, to see if they may be a factor, even though i dout they would be
How's the earth? Is the amp getting any power?
I hope you have the power wire fused if you have done something dodgy with it, or you will wake up one morning to find a smoldering pile of steel where your car used to be
Definately throw out your dodgy power cable first chance and put a proper one in

yeh the earth is connected the earth wire of the actual car, so its safe in that regard. yeh its not so much a dodgy job, like where it connects to the battery it has o rings and so on, but i think i might be loosing pwer through the connections of the main cable, may have to pull it out and use a cable that has no alterations
What do you mean connected to the earth wire of the actual car? Earth it to the chassis as close to the amp as possible

I'm surprised so few cars burn to the ground considering what people do
Definitely replace the main power wire so it is one piece of wire. Make sure you have a fuse within 45cm of the battery and the fuse is the right size for the cable. Generally, buying a proper wiring kit from a store will ensure you do it properly.
do u have anything hooked up to the REM pin on the amp or just have the amp hooked up to accesories?
your REM shud be hooked up to The remote wire or the accesories..
is ur amp turning on ? if not ..
grab a test light.. and go to ur amp n check if ur getting power from "ground" to "power"
check if u getting power to ur REM point..
where abouts you located mate? someone who knows what their doing might be able to come around and have quick looksies.
