My son has an problem with his stock H/U in his vy. Sometimes when he accelerates the volume increases and cant be turned down using the steering wheel controls . It gets to the point where the speakers distort . Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing ?
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
I have not seen this problem occur. Sounds like a problem in the steering wheel control if when this happens you can still turn it down using the rotary volume knob at the unit.
The quickest and easiest way to tell if the problem is in the s/w control and not the unit is to cut either the black/yellow wire or brown wire at the wire loom going to the
stereo. You only need to cut one of these wires. It stops the signal from the steering wheel buttons going to the unit. If the problem persists then its a fault in the unit. If it stops then the fault is in the steering wheel most likely at the volume up button.
I think this units have a function called "speed dependent volume". This means when you accelerate you get more noise, which turns up the music so you can listen to it.
You might need to go to a Holden dealer so they can turn it off if it isn't in your menu settings.
should be able to turn the speed dependant setting in the menu when you first start the car where it says to press up or down on the lcd display, if the stereo is distorting you might want to turn the anti distortion setting on which is also in that menu
