Hey all, bare with me I know sweet FA about audio so my problem is I have alpine type R splits running off a kenwood amp which also runs the sub, but the rear speakers coming off the jvc head unit are pretty dominant and I really can't hear/balance the splits. So is this just me not being able to tune an amp, or is it something I actually can fix.
Depending on the amp you have, there should be a "gain control" knob on it that controls ch1 & 2 and a seperate one for ch3 & 4... just adjust your gain on it.
Yep theres gain and hi/lo pass, not sure what the pass should be on but I think it has one side like channel 1,2 with hi/nothing and 3,4 lo/nothing, and for gain the speakers should be more towards anti clockwise 2, 1 and clockwise 0.5, 0.2 for sub shouldn't it.
It all depends on how its setup.
I have a set pf splits in the front doors, a set of splits in the rear doors, and a sub. The front splits are running off the amp (ch1 & 2) and the sub is bridged into ch3 & 4 and the rear splits are running strait off the deck.
The way I set mine was, I dropped the gains on the fronts and the sub, ran the rears at a level I was happy with, then I bumped up the gain on the fronts and then filled it all in with the sub.
Make sure the sub is in "lo-pass mode"
If u have any dramas or are not sure, just take ur car to a local car audio joint, it won't take them long to see if there is a drama with the wiring or setup, if its just a matter of bumping gains they shouldn't charge u anything.
Alright, thanks for your help.
