Hey,
First thing first, I know f*** all about audio.
I'm looking at upgrading my system just don't know which way to go, after market hu or stick with stock
I've got the Eurovox 260 watt maestro series with the tape player, 10 stacker and steering wheel controls. All speakers are stock.
Is it worth paying to get stock unit modded so i can hook my ipod up?
Like the idea of being able to control ipod from the actual head unit though.
Im not fussed about losing stacker but want to keep steering controls.
Will be getting aftermarket speakers.
Simply want to be able to control ipod from headunit and have clearer sound
Got around 800 to spend.
What should i do?
Youve got two options IMO:
1. Have a look through ASR Audio - a site sponsor, im not 100% sure but i think they can do iPod connectivity and RCA pre-outs for amps if needed.
2. Buy an aftermarket head-unit with iPod control and a steering wheel interface kit. A decent head-unit will cost around $200-$250. The steering wheel interface kit about $200. Installation $140-$200 depending on where you go.
So that leaves you with $150-$250 to spend on some speakers if you like.
