I've got a VS wagon with the stock stereo and speakers (yep, it sounds like poo!). When I bought the car, the front right speaker in the door already didn't work, but the tweeter did. Both rear speakers worked, but yesterday I noticed that the rear right speaker stopped working. On closer inspection it does work but it is VERY quiet, only noticeable if you put your ear against it.
I am wondering if this means blown speakers or some other issue maybe?
Cheers.
Could mean blown speakers or a faulty amp inside the stock stereo. If you're feeling up to it you can remove the rear right speaker and temporarily connect another speaker to its wires then turn the stereo on and up about half way, if the sound is the same its the amplifier (new stereo), if the sound gets louder then you need 4 x new 6" speakers (front and rear will need replacing).
To be honest, if you're planning on keeping the car for a while, save up some cash and replace the head-unit and all four speakers with aftermarket ones. You will get a very nice increase in sound quality and volume
Didnt you post a similar thread nearly 10 months ago?
150db in a commodore =
Yeah I've decided to get a new headunit and speakers, nothing fancy just something basic, it'll still sound better than the stockers!
I probs did, I have pretty much put up with it for the last year!
