hi all, just wondering how many different types of aerial there were used in the VN/P commodores or the VR/S aswell for that matter because im pretty sure they use the same
because i have a VP commodore with i think its level 2 dash and it has the aerial snipper switch but the aerial in the car doesnt have the extra wiring used for this
is this normal or would the previous owner have changed it to this one?
it has philips audio on the tag (and im guessing thats the brand used for factory?)
can i wire this one up to use the button or do i need to find a different one with the wiring added?
thank you :-)
ps i think i posted it in the wrong section before lol
So if i understand correctly you have a VN with a power antenna and the little up / down switches under the stereo?
If thats the case then i would imagine somewhere down the line the antenna has been replaced with an aftermarket version, 90% of the time the antenna dosent support the variable height function or the person who fitted it didnt wire it up correctly.
I dont think the VNs used Phillips, AFAIK they were Eurovox?
150db in a commodore =
nah, VP
and yeah theres a white wire near where the antenna cable pokes through and continuity test confirms its for the antenna to go up and down
where can i get a proper one that goes up and down via the buttons?
all the ones i found at the wreckers were the same for electric, none of them had the extra wiring to connect to the white wire
Is this what your after ? If so, drop me a line 9763 8881, it's in genuine GM perfect nic $ 80 buck's
Cheers Bud.
