i have a sub and amp installed but got it dont professionally for $170.
got quoted $190 or $400 for installing splits and an amp, not sure what they smoked to give such different prices
are VEs really that difficult to work with if have all the high and low converters? mate has experience doing a few cars but never a ve... should i suck it up and get the pros to do it or give it a shot ourselves??
cheers
The VE is very easy to get engine noise when upgrading your stereo. Mounting line converters and crossovers under the seats and paying attention to quality and routing of wires is important.
give it a go yourself mate. if you have a friend who can guide you through the basics, the satisfaction of doing it yourself far outweighs the convenience of paying someone else to do it. the cash saving is just a bonus.
but if worst comes to worst and you arent happy with end result, then take it to the pros to fix.
with two heads (one with some experience), the internet, and a little common sence you'll be fine.
