    Default VY Stereo question

Installing a stereo into a VY this weekend, have a good idea on how to get the door trims off, and im sure there will be more in depth descriptions on pulling the centre console apart, but these speakers have tweeters and i need suggestions on where to put the tweeters and the little box that connects them to the 6.5s and the head unit.

for the vy headunit, the dash does not come apart.

get a kit and vy/vz keys, the headunit slides right out.
once unit is out use a ISO plug if you dont know what you are doing.

you can mount the crossover behind the door trim, opposite side of the crossover (still on the bottom half of the trim)
i would personally put tweeters on top of the trims (behind the side mirrors) on the plastic triangle piece as it would
be much easier to run all wires as you have the input from the factory speaker wire which splits for the woofer and
tweeter. you may need to trim the back of the factory speaker mount out to fit your new speakers.

rear speakers you should have no problems with, if you are using the factory speaker location in the trims. but if
you are not going to run a sub later down the track, put some 6*9's in the back parcel shelf rather than in the doors
as it will give you more bass.

aazn has given you one way of mounting the splits, personally i mount the tweeters in the stock locations (under the demister vent cover panels) and mount the crossovers (little boxes) in the cavities located on either side of the dash, if you remove the side panels (the ones with the holes for the door vents) you'll see the cavity. Also in the is the stock wiring loom before it runs into the door......you can cut this and use one pair for the input and the other pair for the woofer which you mount in the door as normal.

You guys are excellent, thanks! Sub is going in the boot later on, hence the speakers going in the doors.
