Does anyone know of any cars that actually work in your favour when doing a sound quality install.
A lot of new cars have integrated stereo systems that either cannot be removed and upgraded, or would cost you an arm and a leg to do so.
Something with a basic single DIN layout, and good factory mounting points.?
An interesting question. Are you planning on running a 2way or 3way front setup?

Not really planing anything at the moment, but if i did it would most likely be a 2 way.
A 3 way front stage would mean modifying the interior in some way, and at the end of the day would just be too much work. If a car had decent mounting points, then i could better spend the money on a 2 way setup, with the money saved going elsewhere..
But i'm usually against putting mids in lower kicks, but i have seen some cars where the mids are about chest height to you in the doors (some Alfa's)
Thread dig because you're back online, the newer VW Beetles :P

Since were digging.
Older 5series and high end (eg m3) bmws often have factory 3 ways in the front that could be a good staring point.
In reality with time effort and some cash you can achieve alot in anything you like
Oh yeah old post.
Sweetfu you can have the Beetle
I'm considering a new Colorado dual cab, just watching new prices and used models. I was hoping to get a deal on a Rodeo after they were replaced but i couldn't find a new one at that point i had left it too late.
All though since getting out of car audio i have become heavily involved in home hi fi, and i'm not sure i would put too much money into a car audio system these days, maybe a very mild setup, nothing quite like i originally had in mind though.
If you're into home audio now, then set yourself up with a custom DIY active front stage. Sb Acoustics, Fountek, Dynaudio etc, all of the brands you would already know make awesome car audio gear. You could get an awesome front stage for around $200 (2-way), provided you have the capabilities to tune it (Active cross overs, TA) and good amplification, then you can have a very impressive sq setup on the cheap.
