So i was driving along with the sub on which is a 2000 wat earthquake sub and ampanyways it cut out and it blew both fuses at the back of the amp but not the main fuse near the battery. so first thing i tried was get two new fuses but as soon as i put the fuses in they died again ?. is there anything i can try and do to diagnose the problem. i rewired the earth as it was dodgy but i havent bothered putting new fuses in as ther about five bucks a pop (takes two at the back). i have heard disconnecting the sub from the amp and turning it on. if the amp still blows the fuses then the amp is the problem. if it doesnt the sub is. is this true ?? any other suggestions ? the sound is so plain with out a sub i hate it lol

If the earth was 'dodgy' it may well have been causing the fuses to blow, make sure the positive wire is also not earthing out anywhere. and yes test without sub connected, make sure sub is wired correctly and no loose wires earthing out on the speaker basket.
Power is measured in DECIBEL
Disconnect the subwoofer wires and the RCA cables, re-do the earth using an existing bolt in the car (like the rear seatbelt bolts) by removing the bolt and sanding back the area to bare metal, then attaching your earth cable to the bolt and tighten it back up. If you like you can add a squirt of paint over the top to stop rust and resistance etc.
Once thats done make sure the ignition is OFF and insert a fuse, if it blows then you have a faulty amp. Its possible the "dodgy" earth could have caused problems internally.
150db in a commodore =
the bad earth most likely killed the amp.
save your money on the fuses, and put it towards a new amp, or getting your old one repaired.
