It all comes down to your listening pleasure.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!

I was also thinking of installing a screen in to the dash what is involved in hooking one of these up? or would it just be better to buy a H.U with a flip out screen?

Hector, start your own damn topic! Don't hijack someone else's.

I've never heard of MTX, but I love Pioneer's head units. On the other hand, it could simply be a case of neither one being BETTER, they're both equally good just different. In the end when your playing with big name brands you should be looking at the ease of control they offer and go for the one which has the best quality control. Pioneer have great quality control.

Pioneer and MTX are both good brands, bit like fords and holdens...you make the choice really...Each company will tell you one is better than the other but at that price range it really is like ford v holden, persoanl preference....

I'm a pioneer man myself... as for screens, the only reason I can see for having one of them is as a diagnostic tool for your car. Otherwise it's just superfluous crap.

MTX have been one of the best at producing great quality subs and amps. Pioneer are also a good quality brand as well. It comes down to personal taste.

Go down to a car audio store and have a close look at the products if they have them on display. Basically it comes down to which amplifier can put out the best (at 12V), quality of heatsink, crossover capabilities, gain control, terminal quality, etc...

Some people get to the point where the decision can only be decided by the fancy art on the amp... but that should only be when 2 amps are 99% alike.
