im wanting to put in a new system in my car, As its already got jvc headunits and amps running the speakers im after a new sub and amp to run it, What would you recommend? im after a pretty bassey system. It will be using 4 gauge wire.
around 600
600 might get a you mediocre 12" in a box with a semi descent mono to power it....
Not entirely true. $600 will get you a Mach 5 IXL, a Mono with enough grunt , and he would need to build an enclosure himself.

They still have the 10'' and 18'' versions in stock, i didn't realise that the 12'' were all gone. I was just showing the link to the IXL's
But an example of what can be done for the money if the buyer knows where to look, and has a bit of experience building and tuning an enclosure.
I'd rather see an 18" used if the OP wants a "bassey" system lol.

I doubt you would get more ghetto bass anywhere else for that money !
If I had some spare cash, I would buy one of those 18" drivers and slam it. If it can take 1000wrms in infinite baffle, I'm sure it can take a hell of a lot more in a sealed box.
