    Default What wires??

Looking to hook up this amplifier

Ryda Car Audio - Pioneer Car Audio GM-D8400M Car Amplifier($329.85)

Its 1200w peek, for the moment its running one sub at 300rms

Just needing to know what size wiring i need. Ive asked afew people but the more i ask the better.

ive been told to get a 1500w kit as its the closest avalible, which runs a 2G power n earth cable. is this overkill? Can i use a 4G?
Same witht he ground, bigger better or can you go to big?

Also, speaker wires. What size wouold be needed for the subwoofer

AND loll can i use a circuit breaker with a digital readout instead of a fuse?

    Thanks Guys

4-gauge will be fine. You can never have too big of a ground, but no real point going a bigger ground than the power cable.

Speaker wire, 8-gauge, 10-gauge, or 12-gauge will be fine. 8 would probably be way overkill though, but it will look good

Dude, your amp is not going to be drawing anywhere NEAR 135A, which is what 4G is rated at continuously.

You will have to buy, drive around and eventually throw away all that wasted copper.

Pick a more sensible size from this chart...

There is no harm in running too big cable, it will also save you money in the long run when you feel the need to upgrade.

Generally, the next step down for car audio is 8ga which is not sufficient for a 600Wrms amplifier.

The site below is much more clear for car audio wiring as it specifies power ranges, not just current draw for "chassis wiring" and "power transmission".
Basic Car Audio Electronics - Wire

You can even use the power calculator to see what voltage drop to expect with different sized wire.

Good site StoneX, especially since it includes amplifier efficiency in the equation.
