Default Rear view mirror keeps falling off

So I have had my rear view mirror fall off twice now due to high SPL. Anyone had this problem before and knows a simple way to fix it?
I was thinking maybe a bracket bolting it to the roof.

Yeah but on my last car it actually took a large chunk of glass with it so I want another bracket somewhere so that the entire weight isn't focused on the glass.

Maybe the two part glue and a stell bar bolting it to the roof might work. I'm gonna pull apart the rooflining tommorow and see what would work.

    Why is it funny?
I was being deadly serious. If its loud enough to rattle the rear view mirror off its too fuggin loud.

Basically you deisign your audio system to generate the highest Sound Pressue Level (SPL) possible and compete in events to see who is louder, also known as DB drags.

Because it's my daily car as well. If it was purly SPL then I wouldn't care. Right now i'm really making good use of my side mirros lol.

haha, its not illegal to not have the rear view mirror. So long as the side mirrors are there.

    Failing that, try sikaflex.

Lol silkaflex, that'll keep it on forever, yeah not really about the legality just that it's quite dangourous driving without one especially in a large wagon.

Well really, do you want to fall off at some point?

Sikaflex is your friend. Get some masking tape while your at it. Dab some skikaflex on the base of the mirror whack it in position and tape it up good and proper. Half and hour and Bobs your aunty.

Then the glass would break off again cos of the hanging mirror weight. I was thinking a primary brace to the roof and have the mirror connected to the glass via some thick heavy duty double sided tape so that it's not a rigid connection, that way the vibration won't break it.

Like the saying goes, do something properly do something once.

You might just have to hold off untill you can do it properly, rarther then butchering your current car?

    Not really butchering, just reinforcment.
That's just like saying pulling the heads off to install a stroker kit is butchering.

Spose it depends on how it looks afterwards. You can see that the heads have been off once they're put back

Soops gotta point lol , why dont u get one them suction cappy mirrors , then at least ull have one for ur daily drives ( surely u dont drive round with it blasting ur f#@ken eardrums out or ud go deaf ) an thats not fun as i am . That way you can pump it up at ur competitions an when it falls off it wont take the glass an u can just stick it back on .
At 43 a wealth of info , but still heaps to learn
