I used to have a job as an electrical component installer (sound systems, amp/sub combos, DVD players, even an Xbox in there at one point ), and from experience, unless you've done the job a few times, you'll most likely need someone there with you.
Explaining it over the net, as easy and straightforward as it sounds, you'll always come across a random wire (from another component, or still the stereo system) or be uncertain about what goes where.
Easiest thing to do is take it to a place that does car audio, or get an experienced person to help. I'd recommend AudioFX in the CBD near Queens St, but that might be a bit far for you, depending on where you are .

Give the install a crack yourself mate, it really isnt that hard at all. Aslong as you do some research online for stuff you arent sure of, or shoot people pm's. The only "hard" part will be tuning the amps. As for running cables and installing everything, it is very basic. This forum and "################" forum have alot of holden related topics like stereo wiring colours for wiring after market stereo's to the existing harness. Power cable, rca's, remote cables, speaker cables are very basic and easy.

Its cheaper and easier to do it yourself mate. Do you have any mates who have done installs?
