It can be said in a few different ways... You need 3 sets / 3 pairs / 6 individual RCAs.
The 3 sets consist of:
- front left & front right
- rear left & rear right
- subwoofer left & subwoofer right
lolwat?
2 pre outs for a couple of amps and a subwoofer pre out.
So the front speakers and the sub runs of the 4-channel amp. Well in that case 2 sets of RCAs would be ideal, but 1 set with some splits would still work fine too.

You should be able to find a head unit that has 3 pairs of RCA out puts.
The sub-out option is very handy it lets you control the subwoofer from the deck frequency, slope. Very handy.
You can buy Head units that have 2 pairs of RCA and one set can be a sub-out.
Yeah I agree with StoneX here, now that I've slept and I'm not ridiculously tired, I think two sets of RCAs would be best, than you can fade to front or back to adjust the bass.
