2 jl 13.5 w1s LOUDER than a single 18" woofer..
what i dont understand is how does my friend have 2 jl 13.5 w1s 700rms.. and i have a 18" 1200rms and his is still louder.
his is made with 1" thick wood and mine was made with 0.75" thick wood
his sounds like bass demanding massive sound pressure everywhere.. this is what it did.. YouTube - my friends ute with 2 JL 13.5" w1v2's vibrating my car
and i think because my box in my boot so its like a seperate apartment.. but still dont know why mine isnt as loud.. i bet if i put my sub/amp in his ute it would be louder.. but idk..
he also put a w7 in that box and covered the other hole and it was even louder!
both boxes are tuned around the same, mines a bit small coz i cant fit any bigger in my boot

this is what im sposed to get.. bass just fills the whole car and covers the whole block< thats what he told me..
and also when your sitting in there and its turned up you can feel the seat just vibrate really hard and the bass just hurts ur throat and you can feel it in your stomach.. and it opened up his glove box lol. but ye thats the kind of bass i should be getting.. i love it when its that loud!

i would have to say cabin gain looks like a ute, put ur subby in a smaller car and it will sound louder, then in a vy + correct me if im wrong but 2x 12" subbys will move more air than a 18"

ermm just tryen to get mine to sound loud like it should, umm i have had 2 12's in my car and there not very loud, i must admit i got 2 12" jl w1s to vibrate my steering wheel a little on low lows but ye

what sub is it? what amp are you running?

Just because it's bigger doesn't mean it's automatically better. It's all dependent on the sub, sub box, amp and the environment. His sub woofers are behind him yours are locked in a boot. I got 2 12 inch Rockford subs in boxes that would easily kick your 18 inch sub's ass in the same environment and with the same amp. Just for reference purposes.

idk, i got mine to go twice as loud by just folding the middle seat down.. and now its pretty close.... in sound (think i need to get some sound deadener)... but problem solved, i know why his is much louder.. and i know why mine isnt and how i can get it louder.. when i showed him my sub/setup he said to big

Bass is uni directional it will be fine which ever way it faces.

its all about the power of the subs too, you said you have 1200rms and your mate has 2 x 700rms, already hes pumping out 1400rms which is 200 more than you.
i had 2x 12inch pioneers and moved up to a single Alpine R Type, which is the equivilent to running 4 of those pioneers.

Yeah i also drive around with the flap down, It wouldnt be twice as loud, just gives it a little kick. It all depends on what car, how subs are set up etc etc if having the flap down will make a difference.
My sub is facing the back, so pretty much rebounds through the whole car nicely.

LOL how would you know?????? the pioneers are low powered at about 150wrms each
The R type being 500/600rms, you would need 4 pioneers to move the same amount of power.
It's clearly louder and goes harder, than 2 pioneers.

ermm first of all, i need the dynamat for outside sound noise u dummy.. people hearing me coming up round the streets, i dont want no cop pulling over my arss.. and with the wiring.. i said i should as in i know i need it.. and dude with them pioneers if he is talking about the TS-W301R then you need like 10 of them shitty arss subs to keep up with the alpine type r, i know commodore sucks arss for spl.. thats why im working on making my setup better.. got anything else to say? coz im done
