Hi guys
I have an alpine head unit which is only a few months old and a clarion amp which is about 2 yrs old and two alpine r type speaker ( soon to be new s type splits) and an s type 12 inch sub.
Now all speakers and sub are run from the amp. When the bass goes to high of I turn up the volume it cuts out and I have to turn the head unit off then on again to get it playing sound again. It is getting worse as in it's become lower and lower volume when it happens. I have been told it could be the amp. But I was wondering if it is the head unit? I really want it sorted. So could anyone tell me what the issue could be. Cheers
Sounds EXACTLY what i had. Found out it just wasn't earthing enough. I have mine to the middle bolt in the under the parcel shelf. It was the tiniest bit undone and it kept doing that.
The way I found out was playing with all the wires while it was doing that and the earth sparked and found out.
My amp is a Kicker zx750.1 so it has protection on it, meaning it just turns off on off on off on when it didn't earth, but you're might have a protection just to shut off completely until re-powered.
Try your earth! Something so simple does so much.
