    Default Put a cone in sub box or not?

    What will sound better with or without a cone, i listen to hiphop/rap dubstep more bassy stuff,

    The cone is part of a subwoofer, and a sub box isn't much good without a subwoofer, so that's a pretty clear YES.
    Maybe you mean port? As in a ported or sealed enclosure?

    If you mean ported or sealed box, depends on the sub. Ported is usually the way to go with high-wattage

    yeh so, as hillarious as the cone jokes were, i meant the hole in the sub-box with a peice of polly pipe filling it.

    it'll depend on ur specs on the sub, amp and the box built. r u building a box or gettin a pre fab 1?

    As previously said, you can't just chop a hole in your box and call it a port. A port has to be a tuned length, tuned diameter, exactly the right size or it will just screw things. Also, depends on your sub, some models don't suit a ported box that well.
