Default Where to buy, Rockford Fosgate

So i've settled on the speakers i want to buy, though being an american, and not very mainstream brand in australia, im having trouble getting some good retailers.

Autobahn stock it, though only in drips and drabs, a local specialist car audio store (GL Audio) is the only other place ive found.
Having a quick look for internet stores, havent really found any, ebay has afew, though do i trust them?

OR do i just buy direct from the USA? much much cheaper, but how does it work with all the importing and customs taxes..? and have many people bought speakers from american ebay, faultess or issues involved?

any people know of any other stores that stock it? interstate or whatever, any help

    cheers

As far as I am aware of if you sell Rockford online you are in breach of your contract. I can't find it at the moment but yeah I am almost 100% certain one of our clauses is the product is not allowed to be sold online. Most of the Rockford stuff online is poor quality imitations.

    Interesting...

You have not obviously heard them in person, Because if you had, You would buy them where you heard them. Which makes me think you are probably going on Black and white specs and hoping that you'll like the sound.

My question is any reason why you are chaising so hard for RF ? There speakers aren't that great IMO, And in general the newer stuff has not been fantastic.

I have heard them in person, next to Germain maistro (MB quart) and I liked the sound of the rockfords better. I'm going the top of the line models, not base shit.

It's all personal preference mate, people have recommended polk, but I rather Rockford.

Why I didn't buy them when I heard them? Cause Australian prices are a joke, I know what there worth in America so I would much rather pay that than the over priced Australian rrp...

Fair enough, Atleast you have heard them. I only stated that as most people have never heard speakers before purchase... Again, Personally... MB are a very tinny speakers, and not much to compare with!

Just a tip from someone within the industry. Get to know a local shop, don't support US market and you will actually get better prices then online. Unfortunitly the more people who buy over seas are making thing's worse for back home here. Another note, Is that there is a stack of RF fakes, Buying over seas will make warrenty a pain aswell.

Austrlian Rockford Fosgate distributor. Ask them about local stores.

Not going to talk about online stores as it is taking money away from the people who work at AZ Trading.

Why don't you spend good money on a well regarded brand of SQ speakers rather than Rockford? Saying you compared to MB or Polk is no reason as I wouldn't say they are great either. Have you listened to Focal, Boston, Dynaudio, Morel, HAT, etc?

[edit to answer a couple of questions]
You will only get customs taxes (and duties) if the item and postage value is over $1,000. You will only have an overseas warranty, obviously. FHRX Studios usually post all over Aus and stock or have access to most brands.

It's all up to the individual personally I would take Focal over Rockford when it comes to speakers. Rockford subs how ever are nice.

I got to look at Rockford among other brands like mb quart, their newer brand german maestro, focal, polk, boston, and this was all at the lifestyle store here in NSW. I'm sure if you ring them to get prices over the phone with shipping they'd be able to help you out.

I ended up choosing focal splits and a rockford sub. I know that rockford subs and amps are good but I have heard the range of the speakers and really, you don't need to compare them to anything, they just aren't that decent.
    Cheers,

    Mickey

Haha knowing the world as it is, then that is probably true. My only other guess would have been USA.

Used to be a USA made brand but no longer... Not sure which Asian country though. Go to a shop and read the box or contact the distributor, like I said before, if you care about where it's made. GO TO THE SOURCE, DON'T TRUST FORUMS.

Ye ive decided I'm just going in store and pay retail - whatever discount they feel like giving me. I know it's a rip off compared to USA prices, but meh, piece of mind is worth the extra price..

And I've settled on the power range, all T1 systems, T1652 so on
