Yeah a pre fab one, i could possibly make one, but i'm not good with wood or anything like that. It doesn't have to be a show car sub box, just something neat and snug so my boot looks nice
It's good fun making a massive ported box and then listening to it come to life. Those small pre fab boxes don't put out nearly as much bass as a well calculated home made job. You don't have to be good with wood really, u just need a few power tools etc. and no regard for boot space, but each to their own I guess
^^ Same with sealed boxes :P

Well does anyone know where to buy those fibreglass corner molds? They fit snug into the corners
eBay but i'm not sure if they make them for VR/VS or not. VX-VZ they do. Car audio shops can make them up but i'd imagine they will run $500+ for them to make one. MDF is really easy to work with, 20 minutes with a tape measure and a calculator and you could have a box with a nice volume suited to your subs, and that would fit snugly in place. You could make the front baffle longer at the bottom also, to cover the gap between the shelf and the boot floor.
Once you have dimensions, make sure you make allowance for the thickness of the wood, you can go to bunnings etc and have them cut the MDF to side, so when you take it home you only have to glue and screw, very easy.

Yeah theres fiberglass corner ones for VR/VS on ebay. Mate wanted one for his VS statesman but they said it wouldnt fit. Instead he bought a small sealed box off a mate and put an old 12" clarion in it and damn it goes alright for what it is lol. Ive always been against chucking subs in random enclosures but its louder than I would ever want and its way more boom than punch. I still want sealed 10'(s) when the time comes around![]()
if u get a pre fab box just make sure u find out its volume b4 buying it, then u can use the specs needed 4 the sub and try match the closest 1 that u require
