Guys, Ive just been looking to relocate battery into the boot of early commodore. I am tring to decide on the best place to bolt the earth for the Battery.
Where is the best place for a solid earth for Battery?
Solid bit of chassis, not some thinner piece of metal that is welded on, something like the boot floor if possible, there are countless places. Make sure you rub it back to bare metal, have a well crimped 'O' ring on the end of the cable, and make sure its of ample size. Seeing as you're doing the relocation may as well go for a 2awg or 0awg, no harm going a little bigger.

cheers mate, im looking for a solid earth mounting point. Will likely pick up some 0 gauge cable on the weekend for the job. thanks for the advice.
Top of the boot right in the middle = What i use.
If you head to your local auto elec, they can make you up a nice thick cable with hydraulic hex crimped ends. These are the best ends in my opinion, i've tried all the common methods and these tend to give you the least voltage drop, least resistance etc. Not to mention the cable will more than likely be cheaper than jaycar or autobarn.

Mine are all something like 16tonne force hydraulic hex crimped, soldered then heatshrunk, this has to be the best haha. Either way i'm sure you wouldn't notice a difference between the two methods
