ok so ive been wiring up a sub/ amp (its a fusion super slim with built in amp) and have everything wired except for the amp turn on lead. its connected to the headunit but have no idea where abouts it goes into the amp/sub. could you just put it from the headuint onto the amp power cable?
also theres a tiny lttle cluster of 5 wires that goes into it but cant see anything that those wires would be connecting to.
thanks for any help!!
The turn on wire will need to be connected to the remote wire input. It will be with the positive and negative inputs.
Dont worry about those 5 wires they will be the high level inputs and you don't need them if your using rcas for signal.
Hope this helps
Edit. Just had a thought the remote wire could go into one of those 5 wires you spoke of. Not 100% familiar with what your running. Don't connect the remote to the main power wire as this could draw too much current from your headeck and either blow fuses or burn it out.
Did the package come with an installation manual?

thanks heaps man definitly helps. those remote wire inputs, are they just those 2 red and white plug ins?
Not sure what red and white wires you mean sorry.
In general an amp requires:
-Positive/battery/+12v this is a thick wire directly from the battery (via a fuse)
-Negative this is usually the sane thickness wire bolted to a bare metal part of the car
-Remote this is a thin wire connected to headdeck or ignition that provides 12v to turn the amp on (this wire is usually blue)
-Signal in the form or rcas (low level) or speaker wires (high level)
-Connection to the speaker via speaker wires
Your setup will need at least all but possibly the last of these, if it's internal.
sorry for the shiity explanation haha. yep theyre all right.
-i have a thick power wire goin to the +12v batter terminal that goes directly to the amp/sub
- thick earth wire from sub/amp to the chassis
- low level input/output leads going from head unit to the sub/amp. (they just plug straight into 2 holes, the red and white either end of the chord)
- and stray amp turn-on wire which is blue. im after where to connect this one.
thanks for all your help mate sorry if im confusing you
On the head unit it self it should have an output for a remote wire amongst the other wires. Most of the time it's clearly labelled as Remote Power. Usually it's a solid blue but don't quote me on it some units could be different.

this is it here yes? 8
The other end of the remote wire should go 2 the remote terminal on the active sub. should b written on the underside of those 3 terminals on the right (remote)
Edit: there even a user manual u can download on that page that tells u wat 2 do.

yeh mate thats the one. i got it all wired, 3 terminals are the earth, power and rms. i figured that the rms was the one i was after lol stupid me. so its all wired up and everything but my next problem is that it has constant power and the power light is on but theres no sound coming out of itF###! anyone got suggestions? i have the sheet for it and tried all the trouble shooting stuff but nothing is working. could it be that i only had it on the radio not like an actual cd or ipod? cause i know even without the sub in the radio has barely any bass but then when i plug my ipod in it is allllooooooooooooooooot more on the same sonn?
im not much of an audio person haha as you probly figured so any help is good help fellas!
Try increasing the gain to about half. Don't turn bass boost on etc.
Easy way to test. If you have a headphone to RCA lead plug this into the amp. (make sure the key is off when you unplug or plug in rcas). Plug this into an iPod etc and see whether you get bass.
Try adjusting the gain as m1lky has said and see if it helps.

milky and wraith youse are legends!! the volume control and bass boost on the amp are 2 tiny flathead screws that twist. geeze some people dont know how to design shit. i would still be scartching my head though haha thanks dudes!!
That's how they are 90% of the time. Set the gain at a maximum of about half and bass boost at 0.
Otherwise you'll run the risk of the amp clipping and sub being damaged
