Probably been asked before, but can't find a post about it.
Anyways,
I was using my mates amp, running my subs fine, then i went and got mine back, its bigger and puts out more, although. i hooked it all up, and after a bit down the road of it playing it cut out.
no power to the amp, changed over to old amp, no power to that one, checked out both amps in a mates car, both work fine.
ive checked the 12v cable with a test light, theres still power running through it, ive checked all fuses,
im guessing its an earthing problem, im not sure.
may sound like a dumb question, but what is the smaller cable hooked up to on the amp, not the 12v or the earth??
could that be the problem or what?
i dont want to spend heaps of money getting the car rewired, i would but i just dont have enough money
so any help would be a pearl, and ill try them in the morning.
thank you.
checked ur inline fuse?

the smaller wire is probably the remote wire that should be connected to your head deck you will see it has one as well normally blue.
get some spare wire put it to negative on your battery that will tell you if its the earth(which it probably will be)
i use to earth mine to the boot latch bolt.
yeah thought so.
im hoping its just a bad earth,
ive got it earthed to a bolt on the boot. but will relocate it tomorrow morning, hopefully thats it.
as i said i checked all of my fuses, none are blown.
yeah sorry i miss read that u already checked it tho u can do the same thing with ur remote wire using ur test light and see if theres power there wen u turn ACC on. there will b no power wen ACC is off so u need ur head unit on 2 test it provided uve used the units remote wire and not the actual cars ACC lol.
