Default New head unit for VZ Sv6

Hey guys im looking to upgrade my head unit in my 2006 VZ Sv6 so that I can get ipod connectivity and Bluetooth etc. I also want to keep the stock steering wheel buttons usable. Im looking at either Alpine or Pioneer.

    Alpine Electronics of Australia

either out of those three or one that you can recommend, would really appreciate the help as I cannot choose :P

Ive heard good things about the ida-x305. Havnt heard much about the other options you listed, However I've never used it, and no cd player is a bit of a down side IMO. Not completely sure about the steering wheel interface but it says you can do it so it can't be that difficult. I would assume with a multimeter you can trace which wires are the steering wheel controls fairly easily.

It's really easy to do the install yourself. Grab a loom adapter that plugs into the iso plugs the blaupunkt uses and just outbit straight in. I think you'll also need an arial adapter since the one in my car is a euro one.

In response to your pm about speakers and a sub.

If you do want to keep the factory speakers the factory ones in my vy sound pretty damn good in dynamatted doors. otherwise a set of decent components won't set you back too much,

A 2 channel amp that makes 2-400wrns bridged will be more than enough to get a single 4ohm sub cranking in the boot. If you wanted to spend a little bit more money a 4 channel amp using 2 channels to power the front speakers would give you a bit more bass up front too.

    Hope this helps.

Honestly, i'm not familiar with either of the units, I know that they are both good quality, I'd agree with m1lky, the ida-x305 seems good all round to me, personally i'd choose that one.

Haven't got any experience in vy audio stuff, but like m1lky said, it shouldn't be too hard, just methodically get it all sorted. The stock speakers would probably handle a fair bit and not sound too bad, maybe addition of a cheap amp and sub (like i've had for years) sounds pretty mint, although my sony walkman's eq makes it :P
