I have a VS commodore, i was thinking about getting these for the front doors:
Kenwood - KFCM1632A 6 INCH 3 WAY SPEAKERS | Car Sound, Car Speakers : JB HI-FI
and these for the rear parcel shelf:
Kenwood - KFCM6932A 6x9 INCH 3WAY SPEAKERS | Car Sound, Car Speakers : JB HI-FI
what will i need to make these speakers not crackle and sound good at high volume.
i also would like to add a sub to the setup later down the track, so if i could get suggestions for what i need for speaker install and to maximise sound quality, and then links to alternative speakers that are better, and subs that are good for a low price.
cheers
Is this a good idea for a head deck?
Pioneer DEH-3350UB 50W Car CD Player | Car Sound, Car CD Tuner : JB HI-FI
it depends how much ya willing to spend mate...if ya gonna get a sub tho you wont need 6x9's...
just some splits for the front, some 2 ways for the back doors and with headunits it just depends what kinda features ya want...
You will also need to either cut up the back shelf or get some mount things for 6x9s. Like kcpwns said, if you're getting a sub (Trust me you will want one, they are essential for a good system) don't worry about them just get a nice set of 6". (Theres no rear door speakers on VS)
If you want quality at high volume, firstly get better speakers than that.. and you may want to look into getting an amp to run the speakers. For a HU, get something with 2 RCA preouts, and just a decent brand like Alpine, Pioneer, Eclipse etc. Not Sony, Schneider or JVC.
look in2 JL and Kicker? i like them brands for high quality
As has been said, 6x9 and a sub are not needed. If you can work yourself out for a budget we can help you, its important to split your budget up to the components you want. For Example, you'd want 60-80% of your speaker budget, to go to your front speakers over the rears.
Also Bryce_VS without sounding rude you are wrong. Sony and JVC both make great headunits, I have not personally used Schneider so I can not comment. In similarly priced units I would take a JVC over an Eclipse any day, as Eclipse do have a problem with 'idle noise'

no worries, just what I've been told by a few people, personally I know nothing about car audio haha. BUT I had a schneider that blew up as it didn't even have a fuse to save it! biggest POS ever...
+1 for deciding on a budget first, as you may get carried away/end up spending too much on one component
+1 for kicker...I run all kicker and a pioneer headunit and haven't looked back...but in saying that or spent a fair bit on it...work out a budget and us boys will help ya![]()
Oops forgot bout the opting audio amp lol...Good power for money![]()
look into focal 6" range not to badly priced for high qulity gear. rockford p3 subs also good for a not to bad price. all depends on your budget.

Well i was thinking
$100-150 for fronts
$50-70 rears
$150-250 head deck with usb (ipod)
$250-350 amp
$150-250 sub pref 12"
Ok well my friends and girlfriend have been using Option audio as it's not expensive and the speakers and amps go pretty good...you can get all street series just about in that budget...sub in box 1000watts oa12st11box, splits for front 180watt oak65st11, 2 ways for the back 180 watt oak60st11 and an amp 1200watts monoblock oak600...I just chucked the product codes in so you can search em...but they should be round your price range...as for headunits everyone's got different opinions...I haven't really used enough to recommend anything...
That's just an option anyways man.
