    Default RCA question

Hi all , Been looking for a new head unit to replace the Eurovox one . Im a bit confused about headunits . Most are advertised with 1x RCA . Does that mean i set of RCAs to run a pair of speakers via an amp or is it just one RCA for a sub via an amp .
    Thanks ,Dave

usually with 1 rca is for sub amp, and speakers run off deck, if you want speakers on amp and sub on amp then get a head unit with 3 rca pre outs, or if you run 2 speakers off amp and sub on (mostly for utes with 2 speakers), first, what are you going to be running ? in terms of speakers and amps

You can still run a 4 channel amp / sub with 2 RCA Pre Outs, just split the rear/sub channel for the rear channels of the amp, so you can still fade the fronts as you need and then just have to have your sub/rear speakers on the same channel.

At the moment i have the stock eurovox with a hi/lo converter ,2 channel 60 watt amp and a pair of 6x9 3 way speakers . Just looking to replace the HU. Not really interested in subs or something that will implode my eardrums ( im in my 50's ) just something better than the stock HU .
    Thanks

then a cheap head unit with single rca behind it will do fine, like pioneer, kenwood, jvc, sony, the ones around $100-$130 price range

id advise at least gettin a 2 pre out unit so u can have full control over ur front and rear speakers wen amped. if u ever do decide 2 add a sub 4 wat ever reason later down the track then go 4 the 3 pre outs, even if u dont use the sub output at least its there 2 build onto and will save u doing this all over again.

i agree with wrx, minimum of 2 rca pre-outs. if the price difference isn't too bad i'd go for 3, that way you won't be limited if you do want a sub in the future. i had 1 rca out in my last car and it was a real pain to set up front/rear stage and sub
