Hey, is there such thing as a slimmer single din head unit? same width across but just shorter in height/shallower? Or are they all that one size?
why do you need something slimmer?
They will all be the same size, DIN is the standard of size so they are all designed to fit into that exact dimensions.
Ir do you mean one that doesnt go so deep into the dash? because the depth may differ slightly but not by much. if you open a headunit up you will see theres not a lot of room to play with.
Want to move it down into the gap beneath in my VR, but i can see where the heater box is and want something to fit in there, then wack a 7" android tablet above it..

I also found a half din insert pocket so i can make it all look really nice. Thanks for the help!
If you cut the pocket out a little then use the metal surround with bendable tabs that you get new with a head unit it will work fine.

to make it simple. Just need to match the dash paint, get a hsv badge in there and should look sweet.
It will still look strange. The install me and a friend did looked near factory. Headunit where the pocket was and fold out screen in the factory spot. But your call.
