hi guys i just upgraded the speakers in my vt, did splits up fronts and just normal coaxial in rear doors, the problem Ive got, is the front speakers sounds like they are 5 times louder then rears, say for example (i know these numbers mean nothing, its just for an idea) i have my stereo on say 25 for volume, i then turn fader all the way to rear sounds like the rears are on 5, I know about having a good front stage and stuff, but i would like for people sitting in the back to have some half decent sound too.
just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what could be done to make them more even, also the front splits have a option for the tweeter to be 0 or -3db, what would you recommend them being on?
thanks in advance
Do you have an amp & is it hooked up to the front or rear speakers or all of them. The usual way to go would be to have the amp powering the sub & the rear speaker set. Where do you have the rear speakers mounted & what's immediately behind them? What wattage are the rears & what are the fronts? There's a number of things that could cause this kind of thing.
As for the splits I usually have my tweets on 0 but that's for my car the way I have it set up. Your going to need to play with yours & find out what gives you the best sound balance to your liking.

Check your wiring for a short. Check the tags on the back of the speakers aren’t touching any metal on the doors. Makes sure the cones aren’t touching the inside of the door trims when they extend. I had a pair of drivers with pointed phase plugs that were hitting the door trims and restricting their movement.
having different brands of speakers would cause this or amp settings also the deck should have a fader on the H/U to set them all equal
Please explain?
If there all car speakers and most are 4 ohms i dont see the manufacturer being a problem. I have installed lots of system with diff brands speaker with no problem.
There might be a wiring problem speaker hitting earth body.
Or if running an amp the gain could be a having a effect on this problem

Sorry nic wasn't a personal attack on you.

OP there are quite a few reasons why the backs aren't sounding as loud. Different impedance, different sensitivity, different tuning including crossovers, but the main reason is that they are tucked behind big fabric and foam seats, and those seats are very good sound-proofers.

if i do say something wrong just correct me
okty
well after alot of fiddling it seems to be working fine now, when i purchased the speakers i got a new head unit, which comes with a microphone and does a auto tune/calibrate, well turns out that feature is shit house, wiped the memory on the head unit, tuned it manually, and seems to sound half decent now, the auto tune sounded excellent, but only up front, now after spending so much time learning a graphic equalizer lol, i now have it sounded exactly the same, but in all positions, not just the front, im guessing the calibration was the issue as i noticed it said it was measuring the distance of the speakers/ adjusting the gains on each speaker and what not, like i said that feature is shit house. lesson learnt sorry for waste of a thread.
The headunit i purchased was a Pioneer MVH-8250BT and to be honest im not that happy with it and i prefer my old pioneer HU, but to tell my gf i wasted $400 on a new HU and i dont like it, i might aswell go hang myself now haha
Auto tune is for SQ, where u want all the sound to be comin from infront of you.
It would have done a time alignment aswell so it creates a center channel from l/r speakers
Personally i only use front when only im in the car, if have passengers i will fade rear up to half way.
