    Default DVC Sub questions

My Questions are basically I dont really understand them, I have only used single coils before.

What I`m not really understanding how you wire and power them, I have a amp I`m wanting to use - 4 Channel and bridge it to two channels (to power 2X12" subs). I dont believe its 2ohm stable at 2 channels.

Now most subs these days been DVC either 2 or 4 ohm coils seem that my amp might not be able to power them and I`m limited to just a older style single 4ohm sub.

Can someone explain this abit better for me or explain how I can make this work. I want to continue using my currant amp.

With DVC subs, it gives you the option or doubling of halving the impedance, so if it a DVC 2-ohm sub (as in two coils with 2-ohms each) than you can make 1-ohm or 4-ohms depending if you wire them in series or parallel. A DVC 4-ohm sub can make 2-ohms or 8-ohms.

In your case you want some DVC 2-ohm subs, and wire them to series to make 4-ohm for each sub.

If you had one 4ohm DVC (4+4), you could bridge the amp into two channels and run each channel to each voice coil.

If you had two 4ohm DVC (4+4), you could just run the 4 channel amp as a 4 channel with each channel to each voice coil.

As was said above though two 2ohm DVC (2+2) would work the best.
