Ok guys, i have an mtx 3401 monoblock (not bridgeable) and 1 soundstream sp -15s sub... The monoblock is rated at 400w rms and so is the sub... but how do i connect them to get the most out of it... ?? I linked the coils as advised by soundmaster - but how do i hook the amp to the box ?? run ++ from the amp to + on the box and same with - connection ?? or just hook up one + from the amp to the + on the box etc... Sorry if this sounds confusing, its confusing me to write this lol.
What is the voice coil configuration of your sub? By the sounds of it, you say its dual voice coil. Your amplifier puts out 400wrms at 2ohm, so you need to wire your sub to 2ohm (if this is possible with the voice coils for your sub)
If you have already wired the sub to 2ohm, then you need to connect the + and - of the amp to the terminals on your sub box

Yeh my sub has dual voice coils, the shop said hook up both ++ and both -- together and then run a wire off one of the plus's and on wire off one of the minus's to the positive and negative of the sub box.. Im actually doing this right now, well repositioning amps and stuff, havent tested the sub yet...
Sounds like the shop has said the sub is dual 4ohm voice coil, so yep wire all the + together and all the - together

PROVIDED your sub has dual 4ohm coils

Yep thats how i wired the sub together and it has dual coils, but unlike that amp in the diagram i have two minus terminals and two plus terminals ? Is there a special way to wire it up ?? I just plugged it into one set of terminals in normal fashion... Sounds real good at the moment and no probs so far
Yep normal fashion mate, just ignore that you have two sets of terminals.
