Hey guys, I've been looking around for a while for some 8" midbass for my parcel shelf(VX) and I've stumbled upon these little things on eBay.
VZA 600W 4 Ohm 8" High Performance Car Subwoofer (Pair) | eBay
My question is, would they be any good? I mean, it seems to good to be true 4Ohm, 300wrms, $120.
Thanks in advance.
Kieran.

I can't comment on how the actual product sounds as I haven't used it but... That speaker is more suited to a sealed enclosure so you'd need to box around the back side of the speaker. The speaker specs don't seem realistic either. Very high efficiency for such a small cone and high-ish power handling.
For $120 they'll make sound but you don't know if it will be GOOD sound, probably not as there's no info around about them. Ideally, you want a speaker made to run free-air (without an enclosure).
I bought an Alpine type S 12'' 900watt maxx with 400rms for $145 from Jbhifi...
I use it in a sealed enclosure and the hit good bass
So would reckon go for good brand and u also get the warrenty
and 1 shud be better ..save you space
Thanks guys, hey StoneX how do I tell if a speaker is a 'free air' speaker?

They advertise it as a "free-air" model. You can look at the Vas parameter and if it's high, like 140L then it's decent for free-air use.
As Mohi mentioned, you're better off getting a single sub in an enclosure. It will sound better and have more output.
Alright cheers, I'll keep looking around, money's very short at the moment, but I'd rather go hungry for a week than spend another day with my useless audio hahaha
