    Default Is This Legal...?

I am kinda upgrading my audio in my vy ,
so far i had a new HUnit and new splits and stuff and also a new sub and amp..

I thought of making my boot bit neat as i also got a LPG tank in the boot, So i thought of covering it up with a sheet of wood and also thought would be great place to mount the amps ,as in the end i am gonna mount two alpine v series amp and two subs in custom enclosure .

So wanna ask is it fine to cover it up , I know when coppers gonna check they gonna ask whats behind the sheet , so i had done the installation in such a way that it can be laid down and even taken out easily, without unhocking any wires ...

Can coppers object it , is there any safety issue , if yes ...then what..?
and can i also make any changes or you guys could give any ideas as what you have done, as i couldnt find any good spots to mount two amps..Attachment 123340

Not sure about legality or what the police will say, but the valve on the tank must be easily accessible in case of an emergency to shut the gas off. I'd probably cut out an inspection plate so the valve can be shut off if need be.

What about gas conversions that use a tank in spare wheel well, they're covered up?

The factory gas in the VY wagon at work is covered where the spare wheel is and is covered by the floor. You may be correct but I highly doubt Holden would spec anything that contravenes ADR's or associated regulations. I presume there will be around it if you satisfy several requirements.

To the OP - I would consult with a reputable gas installation company

Well you can get those gas tanks that go in your spare wheel arch bit and that gets covered by the factory carpet , so i reckon just put like a flap there or something

I had mine covered up in my old xe, no issues at all with the fuzz. But that was over 10 years ago. Laws may have changed

adr requires quick and safe access to the shut off valve on the tank.
meaning, you can put the sheet up, but you must have a flap or door or something that allows quick access to the compartment where the shut off tap is located.

The box on the back of the tank must be visible and easily accessible as far as I am aware. Could be wrong. Better off ringing DOT.
