07 Commodore SV6 audio options

Hey all,

I recently purchased an 07 SV6 with the standard head unit that does not play mp3's i was wondering what my best option is to be able to play mp3 CD's and what costs are involved.

Can i buy the 6 stacker mp3 optioned head unit from Holden Spares and install it?
Should i buy an after market headunit and mount it in the glovebox and then how do i get it to function with the standard headunit and steering wheel controls?

called holden spares and they said that fitting the factory upgrade headunit is to much trouble.

my last resort option would be to mount an ipod (shuffle, nano, classic or touch not sure which is best)

any information on hardwiring a power source and input for these?

there are a few thread about connections for the rear aux in the VE section. also on ebay you can buy rear aux Ipod cables

What is the use of the rear aux? I have never taken any notice of what it does
