Im sure you'll register, it'll have to be in the 130s atleast...anything under that and i'll be dissapointed haha.
    well ran it today, 132.5 @ 73hz
I know the frequency is high but tried all different port lengths and for some reason with the port tuned to 48Hz it was peaking in the car at 73Hz

now to see if i can get a few extra db out for the comp next sunday

Thats pretty good, bet they loved the power

Yeah peaking that high is a real problem......meanwhile i have issues of my own, borrowed a TL for a week to do some testing and have lost 0.8db, really starting to get over this SPL stuff, lol.

We'll see what tomorrows testing shows

I really should get off my fat ass and get the ported boxes built so I can see what the subs can crank out. Maybe build a box where I can swap the port length for different port frequencies, one for everyday use and one for loud.

Nope, im not heading to the light side anytime soon....found my missing 0.8db, and gained another 0.4db
More testing / tuning to come, thats if my car dosent fall apart......6 full-volume tests every hour for 6 hours straight equals a very shaken car lol.

I did say i was going to post up some videos, that was a few months ago now.....trust me, im getting round to it

Yeah it plays normal music, being tuned to 46-47hz it plays 70-80% of music fine......its just getting a front stage to keep up
I'll get a few vids of it tomorrow during testing (burps) and then play a song or two and show what it dose on the termlab on music

Doing alot of work to the box and wiring today (upgrading speaker cables and cleaning buzzbars etc). Then testing tomorrow.

So what electrical system are you running. As in what size alternator, and I'm sure you've got a D31 right? Just the one or two? Also do you have multiple runs of 0-gauge or what?

I like your statement Tasmaniak. So now I know why I don't seem to have a life, I need to upgrade my sound system.

Stock battery up front (soon to be D31 YT), 1 x 95mm2. welding flex to rear, 4 x 95mm2 flex to various earths under bonnet. 4AWG alternator charge cable (stock alt.).
Rear battery is the Optima D31 YT, 2 x 95mm2 runs of positive and negative to buzzbars near amp. The 95mm2 run from the front also connects to the buzzbar, the 2 x 95mm2 earths from the D31 run to a alum. buzzbar bolted to the floor, off this theres 4 x 95mm2 runs going to various earths (seatbelt bolt x 2 and the actual chassis rail x 2 - drilled a hole in the floor pan in rear wheel arch to access rail).
When i upgrade to the second D31 i'll add another 2x runs of 95mm2 from it to the rear, so a total of 3 runs (5m each) from the front battery and i'll run another 95mm2 power and earth from the second battery (3 + and 3 - total from second battery). The second battery runs are only 1.2m so not a huge issue.
At the moment playing music at 95% volume im seeing 11.5-12.0v drops, 11.5s are usually after a few minutes. During 5 sec. burps im seeing 11.8v drops.

I'm going to be honest Holdenboy, I was scratching my head after the first sentence.

The only part I understood was voltage drop at the end, and you know what will fix that, a 1.0 or even a *gasp* 1.2 farad capacitor. It been proven by drucken rednecks and all the cool kids with Boss amps and even cheaper subs, that a cap can provide your car with as much power as a nuclear reactor. 20 million idiots can't be wrong.

Oh and maybe you should upgrade your power cable while your at it.

Get off the anti-cap bandwagon unless you've done side-by-side tests to prove it doesn't affect the voltage supply.

That was purely a joke, I'm not to sure about how caps affect voltage supply, but I know that a 1 farad cap ain't gonna do squat to Holdenboy's massive system.

Game on, Bezz lend him one will you. HoldenBoy I want to see that baby go. Oh yeah 100 microfarad of hardcore bass.

I'd lend you my car while you've got a termlab there but its in the panel shop because some girl ran up the rear of it. First time I got in my parents stock VY I nearly cried from missing my sound. Even the local buses seem to have better stereos than a stock commodore. I did have fun putting one of my songs with the most bass, and turning the volume to near max and bass to max, who would of thought that a stock sound system could vibrate the side mirrors.

A few of those bezz would be great.....but dont tell anyone, it could be seen as cheating, lol.

Got 80% of the fibreglassing done today (thats the only hint im giving away ) so probably got an hour or two of wiring upgrades to do, then reassemble everything (again) and head out to the middle of nowhere to test

Heres a pic of my little "setup" out in the bush (well, only a 5 min drive)....note the generator and separate battery to power the termlab, plus a few spare ports and the clipboard to write down everything i test and the results

Thats a big tool box, why you could fit massive tools in there, huh, no wonder I haven't seen dynorder on here lately.

BTW a few of us have made Car Audio on the JC forums history, see pic. Its hard to rear but you can get the idea.
