Cheers mate!
My mono has 4awg, splits amp 4awg and smaller amp has 8awg.
I think i'm pushing around 1220wrms nowvery happy.
Will finish off wiring in the morning, christ it takes a long time!
Should look neat though, all cables will have properly crimped ends.
Cheers for the nice comments.
No problems sweefu, yeah it does take a long time to do it properly. But you know when its finished that nothing will stuff up
Scuba10, why the 5ch. amp, are you using a centre speaker?

Nice work sweefu - very tidy and looks legal.
My son got pulled up by the Queanbeyan boys in blue for not having his sub secured properly and the grommet in the firewall installed for the amp power lead. Got a defect on his EF Fairmont Ghia for his troubles.
Shame he doesn't have mates like you to set him straight.
Cheers, Paul.

Alpine H/U
Front speakers : 6 inch type R splits
Rear Speakers : 6x9 type R
Sub : type R 12 inch 1500 watt 500 rms
Amps : Alpine V power 75 watt rms x 4 powering splits and 6x9s
:Alpine v power 500 watt rms mono block powering sub
future work maybe upgrade to type x splits and dual 12 inch type R's as soon as i can afford an amp to power them both haha
1 Jensen DVD 7" HU (not the flashiest thing but does the job for the price.)
1 Earthquake Xtreme 5ch 1800w amp
1 set of 6.5" Earthquake VTEK Splits in front
1 set of 6.5" Earthquake VTEK coaxils in rear doors
1 Rockford Fosgate P2 500w sub
and im currently installing:
1 Earthquake Xtreme 2 channel 600w amp
1 Earthquake Earthquake VTEK Splits in parcel shelf
Yeah i've been pretty happy with earthquakes speakers and amps so im gonna stick with em. Got the sub pumping of the 5th channel of the amp sounds good but will be getting a mono amp in the future for it (just gotta decide what one) as ill be getting duals
No pics yet its still currently being completed, the box ive made for the fosgate is insanely huge i made it to the specifications on fosgates website but i theres 2 boxes you can choose from a regular and powerful enclosure so i think i might make a regular one![]()
OMG I wrote out a massive speal and Firefox randomly crashed just as I pressed submit! Dammit!
OK, I just brought myself a new VZ Berlina, so the system isn't installed yet, I removed it from my old VN before selling it, but here is a list of my parts:
Amps powering my system are 2 Alpine PDX amps:
A PDX 1.1000 (1000w RMS mono block),
Alpine Electronics of Australia... See More
The other a PDX 4.150 (150w RMS 4 Channel block).
Alpine Electronics of Australia
Sub is a Alpine Type X 12" sub, similar to this one:Alpine Electronics of Australia
Its gonna be bassy!
Speakers are Alpine 6.5" Type R front and rear, similar to these, but with more power, great frequency range for the price!
Alpine Electronics of Australia
Head unit is exactly the same as this, but an older model/look. All features are the same: Alpine Electronics of Australia
As I said, not installed ATM, I'm hating the stock speakers, but just haven't had the time yet.
Future mods: Another PDX 1.1000 amp and Type X Sub, and possibly a upgrade to type x speakers too, depending on finances.
Just finished my new install today
have changed my sub to an Exodus Audio Shiva-X2 loving this sub just sounds so good.
i'm not happy with the fit of some parts so will redo them at some point in time
cheers
Still, it looks awesome!
I can see the little things youre not happy with, wont start picking or anything....i must say i LOVE the little toolbox.

Nah, I never took any photos of my VH stereo as it wasn't worth looking at

and fusion reactor 2 channel amp...
does anyone know what a good two channel amp is that runs over 110 rms please i would love to know
and an alpine ida - x305 unit
it sounds awesome
Hey there Sweefu, Going well so far. Just an idea you may want to try is there anything mounted on the LHS of the Boot? If there is not then you might want to use that with a panel to mount an amp there.. Or you could try mounting 2 amps to the one board... One in the front and the other one directly behind... Use the lower power one to mount behind as there wont be much air for the amp to breathe. However it is a nifty way of hiding an amp that you still want to use but not see. Good luck with the rest of the install.
Cheers
Simon
Lets work as a TEAM and do it MY WAY!!

I dodgied up some 2nd hand gear into my VR runabout yesterday to learn the basics of installing this stuff
Head unit: VDO CD1327 deck, 40Wx4, MP3 CD, aux in, RCA outs - all I need$50
Front speakers: Pioneer TS-C1625 splits, 220W max, 60W nom, 4ohm $60
Rear speakers: stock VR exec spec
Sub: Soundstream 15" in sealed box packed with cotton wool, DVC@4ohm each, 400WRMS@2ohm $50
Soundstream PCW-15 Subwoofers - Car Subwoofers at Onlinecarstereo.com I think it's this one, very similar anyway
Amps:
Old school Crossfire CFA602 MOSFET 300Wx2 class AB (whatever that means, gets real hot is all I know lol) 2ch amp, apparently 750WRMS@2ohm?, bridged, firing the sub $150
Reading around a bit this seems like a damn good amp :P
"This is one very large bejesus amplifier"
"This amp is a tank, might be a white one but it was a great amplifier."

Head Unit: Pioneer 8950BT
Front Speakers: Pioneer Splits (not sure on specs)
Rear Speakers: Pioneer 6x9's (again not sure on specs)
Amp powering that: Pioneer 600w Amp (again not sure of specs) i should go take photos
Sub: Pioneer (pic added)
Amp powering that: Crossfire TEK150.2
Thanks, not sure on the Crossfire @ 2ohm, and not sure what bad stuff happens if it ISN'T 2ohm stable?? but I was instructed on this setup by a guy who used this gear to do SQ installs years ago, he said it will all work well together so I can only assume he knows what he is talking about![]()
