I decided not to take the 12inch MTX to the competition on saturday, even though it would have most likely won my class.

instead, I rocked up with a single 6.5inch, 80watt woofer, and did a top score of 133.8dB

im about half way into installing an all alpine system into my vt commo
should be done in the next week or so just need the time of work to finish it

alpine iDA-X305S media receiver headunit
alpine PDX-4.150 amp running front alpine SPX-17PRO 6 1/2 inch splits
a second alpine PDX-4.150 amp running rear alpine SPR-69C 6x9 coaxail 2 way speakers
then 2 alpine PDX-1.1000 mono block running 2 12' SWX-1243D dvc subs

still have to get the compasitors i will try upload some pics when its installed

It was free, who cares. But the Pioneer entry range is pretty good for the cost.

They make bass Sound quality is pretty average and the plastic cone will probably crack... The Pioneer TS-W30xC series was better from 305 onwards. I have another spare 304 if you want it

[edit] Actually, nevermind, you're in Sydney and the cone will probably crack in transit.

Sony xPlod Head unit 50Wx2
Two 4" Alpine 130W in dash running off the Head unit
Two 10" AudioLine 800W Woofers with matching Tweeters in custom built box
The Box is powered by a 654Wx4 PowerVox Amp only running two channels
For the other two channels i have two 6" 280W Pioneers to go into the Parcel tray
I have not got around to installing them properly yet

Future Plans are to find two decent +1000W 12" Woofers in two seperate boxes both running off another
2000W Mono Block, unsure of what brands to use yet but they are the ideas
6" Woofers for the front doors and seperate tweeters, not sure where to put them yet
And that should pretty much make a chic wanna get down and dirty in the VNski hahaha

you realise that doubling the power will give you a theoretical 3dB gain, right? and that in reality, it would be more like 2dB due to power compression.

AmmoJammo, that's a pretty big setup for a laser! Brings back memories of when i first became interested in car audio. A friend had yelllow automatic Laser, same model as yours the bubble shape. Basically the whole car was devoted to bass, and sure was a lot of fun cruising around in that little thing haha.

havent gone all out, been trying to get good stuff cheap.

- 4 x 3-way Cadence 260W 6" door speakers
- Cadence 600W 4 channel (75Wrms each channel) amp to power them
- Alpine V12 350Wrms mono block
- 2 x 12" Rampage subs (dont know power)
- 6 stacker head unit stock with blue/white light mod like many ppl on here.

it only cost me around 700$ all up, got cadence amp for 50$! cause guy wanted to get rid of it asap, also got the subs for 40$ and they are better than my old kicker 10"s i paid 400$ for!

as i said i dont want a system to make people go "what a ########, its so over kill" but i want it to turn heads, and it does that so im happy with it

the box volume and tuning was done as a guess... then I played with tuning, and gained nothing :/
