I've found this wiring diagram. I'm attempting to hook up my Clarion VX400 double din headunit.
Theres a wiring diagram in the clarion manual. Question is what is the constant wire for? I can't find a wire for it too hook into in the manual. Can it be known as something else? Cheers
Accesories - Yellow
Constant - Orange/White
Illumination - Brown/White
Earth - Black/White
12V OUTPUT - Yellow/Red
Radio Mute - Yellow/Black (VT onwards)
Antenna up - White (VR onwards)
Antenna down - Blue (VR onwards)
Illumination OUTPUT - Grey (VT onwards)

constant wire keeps the units memory, clock, radio stations, etc.
on the clarion harness, it is the yellow wire.
The clarion manual is telling me the 12v main power is YELLOW which hooks to the VT YELLOW/RED

Hibbo, I'll PM you within the next day about your issue. I have the exact same headunit and had no issues with installing it
incorrect.

if you cant work it out/arent confident, take it to a shop to get in installed and save blowing it up. you can also buy a harness that plugs into the vt, with wires that will colour match direct to the clarion harness.
use a multimeter if you are unsure

All wired up and working without blowing it up. I used a VT harness and snipped the positive and negative socket off it and wired and soldered it to the clarion harness. They don't make a clarion vx400 iso harness otherwise i would've done it the easy way and used one. Now just to mount it in. Thanks for the help hakhawk, fyfee and nic. Appreciated.
