Before i go out and buy a subwoofer and amp im just wondering how hard it will be to wire it up myself. I've already wired my double din clarion headunit in. Is it just a matter of running the wires from the amp into the back of the headunit? Or must i run wires to the chassis and battery too or does the headunit earth and battery take care of the amp too?
Cheers

You will need to run a power wire direct from the battery to the amp with a fuse as close as possible to the battery. The ground wire is easy enough just find a bolt take it out scratch a little paint off put bolt back in with the earth o ring terminal. You will need to run the RCA's and the remote trigger wire from the headunit. That's it really.

Thanks boys. Seems pretty simple. If i done my headunit i should surely be able to tempt this.

Easy if you've done it before, still relatively easy for a beginner, just takes longer.
BTW, run the positive (from the battery) on the opposite side as the speaker plugs (i think they're AUX) that plug into the back of the CD player to minimise distortion
is there another place you could access the power from the battery on the passenger side of the firewall? i.e. under the steering column.
It's not rocket surgery.
There are threads all over this board on such.

For an amp the only option is direct from battery. I wouldn't risk it any other way.

TIP: if it's an automatic then the grommet for where the clutch goes on a manual on the firewall is the best place to run the amp power wire
i run mine on the passenger side, less annoying then drivers. and means engine noise is at a minimum..
