i just brought my amp finally, and it has a remote (the remote as in the one that controls the level on the amp), at the moment, i have the remote running through the middle of the car, next to the hand brake and up under the H/U and when i get my second one, i want to make it more permanent by running the wire down the side, so does it matter which side i run the wire down? (power wires are driver side and rca+speaker wires are on the left side) not the remote wire that turns it on lols
will there be any interference with the power wires or rca/speaker wires ?
also one other question - it is better to mount amps on wood than having them on the metal panel which is grounded isnt it? one other thing im doing when i get my second amp![]()
No, the remote gain control cable won't be affected by power wires.
Generally, yes, it is better not to mount directly to metal as some people get ground noise issues.
Remote gain has nothing to do with signal so it isn't subject to any sort of interference. In an extreme case wouldn't go running the remote wire anywhere near the rca's, but in your situation it probably won't matter.
ok thanks guys, just wanted to make sure.
