For some unknown reason my subs (12" kicker comps) just aren't working, this is the first time I've tried using them since buying them brand new, everything seems to be wired up properly, but nothing, I'm baffled as to what the issue could be! There in my vn wagon, ive tried moving the ground around numorous times but still nothing. Have my old pioneer mono 750 or 800 watt can't remember which one is it's peak. Can anyone shed some light for me? Everything seems to be in place properly, rca's (and the thing inbeteeen them) power, ground, and system output (wires to subs)

so, is the amp turning on?
I had a quick glance at the amp fuses didn't seem stuffed, I'll check it all over tomorrow in daylight and see if the amps getting power

Just to be certain there's no fuse or anything that can fault inside the actual amp is there? I'm just about to go out to the car and have a look at it, I can pull it apart if I have to just can't really be bothered lol

The two fuses on the exterior of the amp are fine. So I don't know what the problem is

Check with a multimeter if you are getting power to the amp and if you are check if you are getting power at the speaker terminals on the amp.
so the amp isn't turning on then?
That or, amps not working or not powerful enough for the subs?

Power output has nothing to do with it. It wouldn't matter if you had a 10 watt amp you would still hear noise from the driver. Obviously it isn't powering on.
Does your head unit have a sub on / off control?
Did you check you inline fuse on the power cable near the battery?
Did you remove and examine the fuses for the amplifier?
Have you connected the remote trigger wire correctly from the head unit to the amplifier?
Have you earthed the amp out properly? Where did you connect your ground wire?
Did you connect the power cable to the positive on the battery?
Is your head unit working fine other than the amplifier for the subs?
Is there anything from with the rca cables themselves, are they terminated ok ?
What other components do you have installed in the car? Give a detailed list including all model numbers, (off everything!) and if your still stuck i can do a diagram for you, and if you follow it correctly will determine where the fault is.
did you check with a multi meter the ohms on the subs to make sure there not blown. my friend had the same problem and blew his JL W5 and a W7![]()
Your friend is an idiot.
yeah thats what i thought when he told me
the amp would have a power LED and most likely a protect LED, are either of these on? :/
All good guys, had the system control connected to clip that connects to the original headunit clip, thats why it wasn't working.

Wtf is a system control head unit clip?
Eurox stock headunit clip, you can buy after market clips to connect your after market headunit. When I got the car all the wires were taped together with electrical tape and there was a blue wire sticking out (which I assumed was the connection for that little blue wire between the rca's (I just call that system control because it's what it says on my amp) anyway that wire was connected to the after market headunit clip (so wasn't going to the headunit wires) I cut all the electrical tape and discovered the actual wire running to the headunit so I connected the little blue wire to it and everything worked. Sorry if ppl don't understand that's just the way I understand it.

I take it as the remote wire wasn't connected? Ierno.
Yep, that'd be the one

Congrats on fixing it, hope your system goes well.
Thanks mate, now all that's left is wiring up the 6x9's in the back of the wagon
