Hi Guys
I have a recent model Pioneer head unit (can't remember the model off the top of my head but set me back around $550-600 so it isn't a cheap and nasty one)
I recently bought an iPod nano to keep in the glovebox as a permanent hdd for music.
The problem I have is:
When I have the iPod or my iPhone plugged in via AUX I get crystal clear audio but when I plug either of them or a flash drive into the USB port the vocals sound a little distorted (background noise)....the sound is still very crisp but just has a little fuzz behind the vocals.
Setup:
2x front speakers (Stock Equipe speakers, still sound great for 17 years old)
2x Parcel Shelf Speakers (Sony Xplode 200W with external tweeters)
1x Boss 1200W sub in the boot
Does anyone know whats causing this?
I have tried different devices/cables and nothing seems to work (I have also tested them on the USB port in my camry and they work fine there)
Thanks Guys
Can you list the model number please of your head unit.
You've pretty much rounded it down to the USB section of the Pioneer unit... So write this same info (also add what volume it's evident at), stick it with the unit and get it checked by Pioneer.
If the unit you have is a manual flip down face, you can give the contacts on the back of the face a clean with a stiff brush and some solvent (metho/shellite/etc) to see if that helps.
So the speakers are powered off the headunit and not an amp? I'd be tempted to take it back. USB should be even clearer than Aux
stupid q, have you tried another usb?, i know its only reading files not playing through the connection. helps narrow down the issue
or as stonex said, get it checked
