I`m after a double din head unit on the cheap, I have found something thats caught my interest eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
Of all the cheap chinese units this looks to be the best Ive see, I`m wanting to know your thoughts on it - if you have one even better. I asked the seller about maps, us$60 for AU maps, but noticed in the specs that it supported a few different types of maps. I know some can be had via torrents but unsure how they would work with it.
Do you have any other suggestions with bluetooth and gps in that price range?
Plus shipping, plus maps, i'd either keep waiting and then buy something better when there is a sale on somewhere, or look at a used one.
Does it have to have GPS and what not, or can it just be a double din?
Eonon does good pricesand the GPS works great from my experience with them
Eonon are great for the price had mine a while now and its even compatible with the steering wheel controls![]()
I wouldent trust it go with a proper brand name and if it fcuks up good luck getting it fixed or refunded cheers.
Don't forget these units have very poor tuning capabilities. This is the source of the sound in your car, if you have a poor quality source, its not going to do the best for your stereo.

Personally I think as long as you amp all the speakers the audio quality is going to be pretty similar to the popular headunit brands
Just my opinion though...
Very untrue, the RCA signal is produced by the headunit. These chinese headunits would absolutely not produce as good a sound as my old Alpine 9855r headunit. Not to mention only a 2v pre out voltage on the Chinese headunits.
They also won't sound as good, because the offer next to no tuning.

Not saying its going to be the best but I wouldn't say it is bad, depends on what you want... Not everyone wants to spend big $$$ on their sound system... I'm happy with mine at the moment and only spent next to nothing![]()
It has nothing to do with spending a lot of money. It is about spending money wisely and in the right places. My front stage cost $139 and installed/tuned properly gave me first place in a sound quality competition, against people with $1600 front stages. My old Alpine unit can be had for $200 delivered in most cases and is miles ahead of a brand new Chinese unit.
But as you said, it depends on what you want. If you want a cheap DVD player that may catch fire, buy the Chinese double din unit. .

thought id chime in and give my opinion.
I have purchased a couple of headunits from Autogps.com.au D600 Double DIN (2 DIN) Universal GPS System for all cars with Australia maps. I have this unit fitted to my VY currently. the install is very simple, they provide the patch harness for the unit. the AU Maps are all current and updateable, the Bluetooth worths well, the screens are easy to navigate through.
For the money you pay, its a great buy.
But it all depends on what exactly you want out of it.
I bought a pioneer double din with GPS + Bluetooth for under $499 from JB-HIFI and that was a year ago.. I am sure there are cheaper better units now. I would recommend getting a well known brand - it will be like the face of your car that you see everyday when you are driving it - dont cheap out!
