how big is the box? could just mount it on the side/ back of the box?

And some amps don't like being mounted upside down due to heat transfer but i've seen it done before.

Yes, however I would not recommend you hang it upside down, the heat dispersion is ruined and you may end up damaging the amp.

Thats what i was meaning by saying don't like it due to heat transfer :P haha

And you could make your own panel out of mdf? Mount it across back? On the side or back of the box? What room are you wanting to remain empty? centre? one side? back?

where the gas tank goes and the boot area i would like empty WOULD lol and i cant mount it on the back not enough room behind the box between the box and the quarter panel so i really dont know where to put it and cant put it on the back of the seat becuase wires will get caught on the pram and ripped out so im stumped

Maybe make up a mdf panel behind the seat to mount the amp, Then make a small box say 300 x 30 x 30 or something that mounts to the mdf panel, for the wires to go down behind,

Depends how crafty you want to get and what equipment you have

    mmm :/

I wasn't sure, i've heard of people damaging amps from being upside down and then the manufacturer claims it was due to them being upside down and wont cover warranty :S but then again maybe they were just saying it so they didn't have to pay for it.

I have no idea to be honest :S

i haven't ever mounted anything on the parcel shelf before and haven't ever seen a vr shelf haha so i can't really help you but i know i've said this too much but maybe make a square out of wood and screw that to the shelf then your amp to the wood?

And if you get a monoblock maybe get a class D, Might as well go a good monoblock if your gunna go one

The PCB/components are mounted to the base of the heatsink. Heat rises. If you have it mounted upside down, the heat stays within the components rather than dissipating upwards into the heatsink.
I may be wrong, but it is basic physics and I don't see why it wouldn't be applicable here.

Here is a quick diagram from my old setup in my VY:

so i think its just to make up a box and box up the right side of my boot for sub and amp and then just carpet it and make it look like its just the boot and hide it all away would be the best way to do it

sounds like it, there are plenty of ways to go about it, like how you said or a cradle off parcel shelf etc. I'm sure you'll work something out

The parcel shelf is made of metal, so wouldn't you think that the heat would rise and contact with the underside of the parcel shelf, essentially dispersing the heat across the entire parcel shelf, making it one giant heatsink?
.. Probably not considering the amount of heat a regular amplifier will produce
But I ran 3 amplifiers under my parcel shelf, upside down, for two years without a single problem.

If you are worried, do as MAG00 has done, its a great idea and will still leave you with plenty of boot space.
