so..
i hooked up a 4 channel amp to the Eonon G1306 cheapy china H/U for the first time, since the speakers were running directly off the h/u and sounded fine.
and i get this noise as soon as the h/u is turned on and nothing is playing. 02102011180.mp4 - YouTube (turn up your volume so you can hear it)
even when music is playing it makes the noise but when you turn it up even louder it sounds really good and cant hear it but then when you press pause or w.e you can hear it.
i have reason to believe it is the H/U sending a bad signal because i tested the amp out with my laptop and it was crystal clear.
it is grounded where jb hi fi grounded it that time when they installed my kicker amp and had no problems
i also changed to new rca and power wires (cadence 4 gauge kit)
any ideas?

Are you able to try a different headunit? Or since you just introduced a new amp, are you able to test the amp in another car? I wouldn't be surprised if it was the headunit. Often with poorly constructed circuits (and pioneer headunits) if there is insufficient ground at any time, the headunit or amplifier may try to 'draw more earth' through the RCA cables, often introducing noise from the headunit. Do you think this could be possible?

not sure.
i am testing another head unit at a friends house (probs on wed)
i didnt have a problem with the old double din
It sounds like feedback? Like from a microphone thats too near the speakers. Do you have a bluetooth phone on the headunit? Can the microphone be disabled or disconnected?
yeah but i havnt hooked up a amp before (on that unit), only hooked up a mono amp would was perfectly fine (which was hooked to the sub rca)
He also said speakers were formerly coming from the head unit, which means the RCA outputs werent in use previously, which means the RCA outputs could be the source of the problem, as you have stated. It doesnt necessarily have to be the amp at fault.
I was only suggesting the mic on the grounds that it does sound like feedback. Havent heard that kind of echoing type sound caused by anything else personally, though that means nothing! lol
Fair enough mate
Nic: I say test the amplifier with another headunit, then you can start to rule out some of the possibilities for causing the noise.

yeah thats the first thing im doing
so i went for a drive today.. and there was a wistle sound when i aceelerated and as i accelerate more it gets louder, seems like a rca/power wire interferance problem but the rca are no where near any power cables![]()
Check grounds with a multimeter? Could your new RCA cables be damaged or power cable damaged?

um na because i tryed it with the Sony 8 gauge kit with different rca's (used old wiring from when the kicker amp was in) and it did the noise, when i tested it a couple weeks ago just before i changed all the wiring
so i just tested the amp+wiring and it all seems fine with another head unit etc.
so it is Eonon's Product (H/U) @ fault
thanks for all the help.
so Enon has asked me to try this before i send it back
RCA NOISE AUDIO FILTER GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR
i am quite familiar with these, will i have a basic understanding of it, never seen one irl thou
i dont think it will do much help since it worked fine with other units but i guess i can give it a try. umm any good ebay sellers that ppl have brought it off?
i havnt seen them at the shop either, i think they would cost alot more than buying one online, maybe il go to teh shop and have a look, il c im not sure yet.
what do you guys think? might as well try it? but then id have to buy one etc etc![]()
I would just get a better headunit.

yeah i dont know, i only got it because i want one with GPS in it and also play music off SD card, dont really care about anything else, dont need bluetooth or dvd. i used to have the GPS seperate but it looked ugly on the window.. and defs not going to spend over $500 on a unit just for gps in built with the radio and usb/sd/aux when i can just buy a eonon one for under $300
Get a regular headunit with SD input and go buy a cheap TomTom or something = problem solved the cheap way.
Just put the GPS near the mode/set buttons.
You are experiencing the reasons why not to buy an eonon right now

yepp i know.
i've got it now so lets just get it working. and il buy a proper one when i get a job after i've finished tafe lol.
If enon have asked u 2 use an extra product 2 solve their problem i dont think u should have 2 pay 4 it or at least ask them 2 cover the costs if it fixes it. Otherwise ask 4 ur money back and save another 100 or 200 as it wouldnt take long 2 do and get a better unit even if u dont use the extra features its got at least u wont have as much drama as u already have.
These units dont have an internal fuse like the pioneers do they?

As above, you should not have to buy another product in order to make theirs work. If you previously had another headunit that functioned correctly, I would almost guarantee that that excludes any issues from install (ground loops etc.). I would demand a refund (preferably) or a replacement.
