Not sure if this is the right section, but it does have to do with car audio i guess...
Anyways, was just wondering whats the best way to power headrest monitors ? Would it be to hook them into the fuse box or power them off the headunit if possible, or some other way, my head unit is Clarion VX409, and my car is a VZ if that helps, wiring up the rest isnt a prob, just the power im not sure of. Basically i just want the monitors to come on when the car comes on and off when i turn it off... Thanks.

Wow, is it that simple? I havent even looked into the HU manual... Is there anything to watch out for when installing this - apart from thieves ?
Ok just had a look at the manual, theres a red wire for accessory, i can plug 2 monitors into that safely i guess ? Black is my ground... So i hook all that up and monitor out with the rcas and thats about it ?
I would be hesitant to run two monitors and a headunit all from the standard accessory power, its only a 10 or 15amp fuse?

Usually the power draw is fairly minimal. I had to do one a few months back and couldn't find a suitable source so did it that way. Was contracted by another car audio installation shop down south. Talked to them and they also said they do that. Nothing untoward happened and customer has yet to come back saying fuses have blown etc. I mean you could be really dodgy and splice into the cigarette lighter but not keen on doing that. Sweefu you would be shocked to know most of the time the power wires for those head rests is about a mm thick.

I wired mine into the hands free phone wires which live on the passenger side under the console. But it's is a vx, so they might be different on a VZ
