okay, so i bought myself a double din head unit and had quite a hard time installing it. like physically mounting it.
after i finaly managed to get the cradle into the car, i couldnt slide the head unit into it. i tried pushing the sides out as far as they would go and still couldnt slide it in, so i took it to a un-named auto store and the guy doing installs there said you cant use the cradles from a double din in vt/vx commodores?
he wedged a peice of 12mm mdf under the unit (pushing the unit to the top) and said thats how they always do it. when i got home i thought if i had to do it dodgy id at least use 2 6mm mdf wedges so it sits in the centre.
so my question, is he just chatting shit and doesnt know or is it realy this difficult?
havnt really seen how the VT H/U's sit in but isnt there some sort of facia for it
well this is how it sits at the moment and im quite happy with it. the thing i dont like is that its only wedged in there. no real support
