6 Stack CD Player in boot doesnt work.

when i bought my car it had a 6 stack cd player in the boot that doesnt work.

my car has a alpine headunit. is that the reason the 6 stack cd player doesnt work, i just thought that it must only work with the stock headunit?
cause i dont want it in my boot wasting space if it doesnt work.. haha

Is the 6 stacker in the boot a 'Eurovox' brand?

If so check and see if when you slide open the door if you can retrieve the cartridge that holds all the discs. If you can then it is hooked up. If you cant then remove it as it is of no use to you. (These factory stackers wont play burnt cds only original discs from memory).

so im guessing it is of no use ?

If when you press the eject button and nothing happens, then yes you are right it is of no use.. (Besides I am pretty sure those stackers only played original cd's not burnt ones... so wouldnt be much good anyway..
If it was mine I would remove it..

You will probably find the stacker was used with the factory stereo and thus not compatible with the Alpine head unit you now have,
