Search for other suggestions. Those subs will give you some bass, lack output and low end.

wont fit sorry bud, i got one when i had my old rodeo then tried just sitting it behind the seat of my vz, no hope in hell unfortunatly
wouldnt wanna spend much over 250 on a single unit
dont look 2 bad, somethin like this is half decent???/
Fusion CP-AS1080 Active 8" Subwoofer - RYDA Car Audio($246.85)
that kenwood 1 any good???
Yeah the specs look better for the Fusion probably be a bit punchier then the Kenwood.
Both subs would lack power, authority and a lot of low end.
That Kenwood is a ~6inch woofer, not even a bloomin subwoofer.
Let's start again, so you actually get decent advice.
Original poster, can you please inform us of your budget and what that budget includes (you will need a wiring kit of some sort, etc.)
The fusion is an 8" which is the pick off the 2.
$250 if you read the whole thread.
So doesn't leave much room for a decent set of splits, amp and cable kit.
$250? He said he wants 2 units in the original post, like the Fusion in the original post for ~$170 each. And then he sad he doesn't want to spend more that $250 on a SINGLE UNIT.
Yeah, I'm the one that needs to read the thread..
BTW, you recommended that cruddy Kenwood in the first place.
Well if you did, you wouldnt need to ask his budget.
He asked about active subs, he got a reply about active subs....
Link was to point him to other options and do his own research.... more helpful then your first post.
He never outright said what his budget was, he merely said $250 per unit.
He got a reply about active midbass woofers, that Kenwood is not even a subwoofer.
Link pointed him in a very wayward direction, to say the least. My first post replied to his post:
I offered an opinion on both woofers.
Please be quiet now.
Yamaha Techy, please inform us of your budget, what equipment you already have, whether you will be doing the installation yourself etc. Also, it's preferred that your posts don't come across as some text to a mate, put a little bit more effort in them, for instance it only takes one more keystroke to type "to" instead of 2.
ok guys settle down ahaha. my budget is going to be around 5-600 bucks. i can do the install myself cause i have a fair idea on this sorta wiring business. i have no gear in the ute other than the stock radio unit for the vy commy.
personal opinon on the:Fusion CP-AS1080 Active 8" Subwoofer - RYDA Car Audio($246.85)
peice of shit, mate bought one for his single cab hilux, all it did was rattle the crap out the ute and you couldnt even hear a decent note out of it, my current system of morel maximo 6 speakers sound more like a sub then that fusion one, and i doubt the kenwood would be any better.
i wouldnt bother with it man, youll be left with a $180 hole in your pocket and be very dissapointed
Yes, that was going to be my advice. With a budget like that:
A) Anything you buy will sound the same
B) It will be shit regardless
righto how bout i go with 2 new 6 inch speakers with tweeters of somethin yea!!!!
start with morel maximo 6 or morel tempo 6, amp them, and then decide if you still want a sub, youll be very surprised at how good they sound, thats all ive got in my ute and theyve tricked people into thinking ive got a sub haha
EDIT: better yet read this mate:

I agree, I have a set of Morel Tempo 6"s amped on an Alpine MRV-F545, they go incredibly loud while remaining clear.
I would go with a set of Morel Maximo 6"s in your case. Contact Sweefu on this forum, I'm under the impression that he is now/soon a Morel dealer.
You'll need an amp, any cheap amp 2/4channel amp that provides roughly 80W RMS at 4ohm per channel would be fine.
Lastly you need to create yourself some good speaker baffles from mdf. Then sealing your door with MDF and a Door kit of Dynamat will top it off. As in this article.
Lastly you'll need a wiring kit, I recommend a 4 gauge kit to allow for upgrades of amps etc.
Overall it should cost around $600, and will drastically improve the high, mid and mid-low frequencies over the shitty stock speakers. At a later date you can choose to add a single 12" sub if you feel the need.
ok guys sounds like i need to do some research then cheers helped a lot
